Bloomingdales s/s 2014 FASHION SHOW

Bloomies sure knows how to throw an event!  Every year, they impress with a new hip theme and an equally trendy location.  This year the S/S 2014 Fashion Show + After Party were held outdoors at THE GATE in DIFC.  Under a lit sky and with the ultimate DUBAI “winter” breeze– it was the perfect setting to see some of the upcoming season’s hottest trends in a BATTLE between #uptownBLM and #downtownBLM styles!

Conor Maynard was the SURPRISE CELEBRITY GUEST who made an appearance on the Bloomingdales RED CARPET and then performed at the AFTER PARTY!

Upon arriving and walking the RED CARPET– my eye wandered around the glammed up crowd to find some FABULOUS MODEST FASHIONISTAS!  I was pleased to be among them, wearing ABAYA ADDICT (of course), and excited to see these ladies rocking some of the newest DUBAI ABAYA trends on the RED CARPET.

And then there was the FASHION– Oh the glorious, luxurious & delicious fashion!  This year the show was divided into by looks– UPTOWN versus DOWNTOWN.

Here are a few looks fresh off the runway- that could fall into the ” MODEST FASHION” category:

Loved this DOWNTOWN look from head to toe. The combination of GOLD, LEATHER + RED is yum!

This UPTOWN look was stunning.  Clean lines in a pure white– all that is missing is a structured white blazer + chiffon hijab for the ultimate finish!

I was on the fence with this OVERALL look– but decided that overalls can come back in style anyday!  Wished this look was long-sleeved & hit below the ankle, but oh well!
